There are wonderful Hot Air
Balloon festivals all around the world. We have the Temecula Valley Balloon Festival, this year being held on May 31 – June 1, 2013, at Lake Skinner in the Temecula Valley Wine Country.
For those who are more
adventurous, balloon tours are available almost everywhere. It’s kind of
interesting that I will drive across America on my own but am afraid to get into a gondola. Nevertheless,
I have the best of both worlds. I don’t need to go to the festival and I get my
fill of the majesty of these balloons as they soar into the air.
Two companies launch across
the street. Our area is rural and there is plenty of room for them to spread
out their tarps and inflate the balloons. The whoosh of the burners captures
my attention. As I wrote in a recent Squidoo page, I am going to stop taking
pictures of them. I mean, how many do I really need. Somehow, I doubt that it
will happen. With the next whoosh, I will be out again. Here are just a few of the pictures.
I would really like to ride a hot air balloon.
ReplyDeleteWe have a balloon stampede/festival here too! It's usually the first weekend in May. Love it! It is so fun to watch them blow up their balloons and then lift off. Gorgeous! And their route usually takes them right over our house, so we get to watch them all go by and here the "swish" of the fire!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a hot air balloon festival, and I've never ridden in one either. It sure would be fun though:)
ReplyDeleteI bet the view is spectacular, but I am scared to death to get into a hot air balloon. I'm a giant chicken and very afraid of heights.
ReplyDeleteI love to watch hot air balloons. I find them fascinating and beautiful, but I'm too afraid of heights to ever get in one myself.

A hot air balloon ride is on my list of things to do (bucket list) so maybe I will do it here in California? I saw an advert for the wine festival yesterday, fancy doing that too!
ReplyDeleteHot Air Ballooning is listed in my bucket list. I've yet to do it. :-) Nice blog! New follower here.

Wonderful! I've only done it once, in Florida, but lovely. I think it would be fantastic to ride in one during a hot air balloon festival.
