California Citrus State Historic Park

This was my month to provide our homeschooling group with a field trip. I choose the California Citrus State Historic Park. When our child was small, we were docents there and did school tours and other events the park had scheduled. This was a real treat for me because someone else did the tour although I still remember all the stuff I used to share. The park is beautiful and for a day trip, it is really nice to enjoy the citrus trees and the large grass park. It's great for kids because they have lots of room to roam while still being close enough to keep an eye on. The museum tells the story of citrus and gives an overview of how citrus put Riverside on the map. We had a great time.

Knott's Season Passes

Proud new owner of season passes, we went to Knott's Berry Farm on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. It was a interesting trip. There was no one there and all we had to do was to walk up and get on the rides. There were times when we didn't even see any people. That's not normal and it was unnerving. Still, since I have never seen it without crowds, there was more time to visit favorite attractions and complain about the changes.

A little breakfast, lots of new photos at Cabazon

Had breakfast at the Wheel Inn on New Years Eve and updated my pictures for the Cabazon Dinosaurs lens on Squidoo. It was a beautiful day, perfect for taking pictures.

Cabazon pictures

I need new Cabazon pictures. The only ones I have are when Niles was 2-yrs-old. He will be 11 soon so maybe we will go tomorrow. Tomorrow is New Years Eve 2011 and we should get a picture while he is still 10.

Is it bragging?

New Years Day is going to be a balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I love it when we have a few warmer days in the winter. We throw open the windows and air the house out while enjoying short sleeves and shorts.

Orange Empire Railway Museum, Perris, California

Sometime next week we are going to the Orange Empire Railway Museum. This place holds lots of great memories for me. Of course, I will turn it into a Squidoo lens. The best thing about it is that it is about 10 miles away and always a fun adventure.

Just added Knott's Berry Farm

We are buying the year passes for Knott's. That means we can go everyday if we want to but Mr. Wonderful is excited about the chicken dinner. This also gets us into the three water parks. The one in Palm Springs is where we will probably go since there is less traffic going to Palm Springs than there is to Buena Park.

All of this reminded me that Knott's Berry Farm is an old friend. We starting going in 1953 when we move to Los Angeles County. There is so much to write about and I'm not sure where it will go but since I just started, it should be fun.
