"A" is for Attractions in California

California is a very big state. To the south, we are two-hours away from the Mexican border. It is a three-hour drive to the Arizona border. Going north, it is a two-day drive to reach the Oregon border. To the west, we have our choice of beaches within an hours drive. Within those boundaries are a myriad of adventures. Living in Southern California, we have access to so many different locales and experiences. We like to take people to play in the snow in the morning, have lunch in Palm Springs, and roast marshmallows on the beach as the sun goes down. The Blogging from A – Z Challenge allows me to share some of my favorite destinations.

I write about California so many of the attractions and destinations have already been posted. With the challenge, I am trying to find new places that I have not previously shared. Knott's Berry Farm and many of the museums that are close to me are already there. I am in the process of converting old slides into photos and am finding a host of memories that I have forgotten.

Traveling creates those memories. Family history is about the times we share enjoying each other and the places we go. I hope that you will find places to create your own family memories. Come along with me.

    Snow in the morning followed by beach at sunset sounds like bliss to me!

    Love those California beaches - we used to have clam bakes - dig deep pits with seaweed and all...so many memories. Speaking of attractions, have you ever taken your grandson on the Giant Dipper - Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk? That's an attraction not to be missed! :) I'm going to have so much fun following this blog this month! :)

    Excellent! We've recently lived in all of those extremes (not in CA, but across the country), and I don't think there's anything quite so awesome as variety.

    I have never been to California...don't ever see that I will make that trip (unless my husband and I decide to visit each state later on in life...neither one of us has that ambition though). However, If we ever do make the trip, this is a good blog to keep in mind :-)

    My own childhood has a few memories of traveling and trips taken...mostly zoos, and children's museums, aquariums, campgrounds...not so much tourist attractions.

    I've never been to California, but I have friends I must visit at some point out there :). My husband has been a couple of times for work where as I have only seen it on TV.

    I grew up in Los Angeles, and one of the things I remember was visiting the La Brea tarpits. I'm looking to revisiting it again.
